Why is it worth studying for a degree in internal security?

It is worth it because: security is one of the basic human needs; by learning about the internal conditions of state security and practically implementing the knowledge and acquired skills, we can contribute to the elimination or reduction of threats not only on a national scale, but also in our immediate surroundings; apart from personal satisfaction, we can contribute to improving the sense of security of our families and loved ones.

Knowledge

The student acquires a general knowledge on the nature of security science and other security-related social sciences.

Skills

Students will acquire skills to correctly analyse and explain, using methods, techniques and tools applied in the security sciences and related disciplines, phenomena of political, social, economic, informational and ecological nature having impact on the broadly understood security in  personal local environmental, national and international security.

Work

You can find work, among others, in international structures or central and local government units as well as in the uniformed services.

Crisis management (first-cycle studies)

  • The programme prepares for work in: institutions and organisations related to managing human teams in crisis situations, natural disasters and national threats, e.g. in crisis management centres at voivodeship, poviat and commune offices, Rescue Notification Centres, as medical coordinators; in governmental and self-governmental services carrying out defence tasks – in uniformed services, i.e. the Police, the Polish Army, the Municipal Police, the Border Guard, the Prison Service, the Fire Brigade, the Customs Service and the Medical Emergency Management Centre. In government and self-government services carrying out defence tasks – in uniformed services, i.e. in the Police, the Polish Army, the Municipal Police, the Border Guard, the Penitentiary Service, the Fire Service, the Customs Service, the Road Transport Inspection, the Railway Protection Guard; in the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration and the Ministry of Justice; in the National Civil Defence and in international public security institutions (Interpol, Europol).
  • The specialisation includes classes in self-defence techniques, martial arts and shooting.
  • The aim of crisis management education is to understand the basic problems and causes of crisis situations.
  • Graduates should be able to undertake tasks in state crisis situations and understand the essence of the basic mechanisms of organising logistic security in emergency situations – the content of education will include learning about organisational structures and functional elements of crisis response.

Security and public order (first and second-cycle studies)

  • The programme prepares for work in: organisations and institutions guaranteeing security of citizens, business entities and property, in governmental and self-governmental administration ensuring public order – in uniformed services, i.e. in the Police, the Polish Army, the Municipal Police, the Municipal Guard, the Border Guard, the Prison Service, the Fire Service, the Customs Service, the Road Transport Inspection, the Railway Protection Guard; in the National Civil Defence and in public security institutions of international range (Interpol, Europol).
  • The specialisation includes classes in self-defence techniques, martial arts and shooting.
  • The aim of education in the field of public safety and order is to equip graduates with knowledge of social and legal issues that form the foundation for understanding the essence of internal security.
  • Graduates should understand and be able to analyse phenomena related to security on a global, state and local scale; they should possess knowledge of social sciences, human rights and the principles of state functioning – its system and structure.

National security (first and second-cycle studies)

  • It prepares students to work in: institutions and organisations dealing with citizens’ safety, crisis response teams as well as educational and academic institutions dealing with safety issues.
  • The aim of education in the field of national security is to understand the basic problems of the state security system, defence.
  • Graduates should be able to undertake tasks in state emergency situations and understand the essence of basic mechanisms of logistics security organisation in emergency situations – the content of education will include learning about organisational and functional structures of emergency response units.

Candidates are accepted only with a COMPLETE SET OF DOCUMENTS.

This year’s secondary school graduates can submit their enrolment documents after receiving their secondary school certificate and matura certificate.

The tuition fee may be paid in one of two forms:

1. Monthly fees

Tuition fees for the year: PLN 4600.00 (payable in 10 instalments of PLN 460 per month) payment deadlines: by the 10th of each month, starting in October (for the first year, 1st instalment when submitting documents)

2 Annual Fees

Full-time and part-time students who pay by 10 October for the whole academic year receive a discount on the tuition fee. The tuition fee for the year is then PLN 4400.00.
